Who treats you

One surgeon from consultation to aftercare

Centre for Surgery brings together surgeons, each registered with the GMC and holding recognised UK or international board certification. The surgical team includes Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Plast), holders of the European Board of Plastic Surgery qualification (EBOPRAS) and internationally fellowship-trained specialists, some of whom combine NHS consultant posts with their practice here.

Subspecialist expertise covers facial plastic surgery, rhinoplasty, oculoplastic and eyelid surgery, breast surgery, body contouring, cosmetic gynaecology and laser and aesthetic treatments. All surgery is performed at our Baker Street hospital, under TIVA anaesthesia given by consultant anaesthetists.

You meet your surgeon at consultation, not a sales advisor. A patient coordinator books your consultation with a surgeon who performs the procedure you are considering, and that same surgeon operates and reviews you afterwards.

What is true of every surgeon here

Registered with the GMC

Every surgeon is registered with the General Medical Council. You can check any of them on the GMC’s public register using the number on their profile.

One surgeon, start to finish

The surgeon who assesses you at consultation operates and sees you at every follow-up. No handovers.

Consultant anaesthetists and our own nurses

TIVA anaesthesia is given by consultant anaesthetists, and recovery is run by nurses employed by the hospital, not agency staff.

A CQC-regulated hospital

Surgeons operate here under practising privileges, within the governance of a hospital that is registered with and inspected by the Care Quality Commission.

The wider team

Surgery is a team effort. These are the people around your surgeon.

Questions about our surgeons

Are the surgeons at Centre for Surgery GMC registered?

Yes. Every surgeon is registered with the General Medical Council, and most are also on the GMC Specialist Register for their specialty. Each profile shows the surgeon’s GMC number so you can check it on the GMC’s public register.

What qualifications do your plastic surgeons have?

Our plastic surgeons hold the FRCS (Plast) fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, the European Board of Plastic Surgery qualification (EBOPRAS) or equivalent international board certification, and many have completed fellowship training in a subspecialty such as facial, breast or body surgery. Qualifications and memberships are listed on each surgeon’s profile.

Will I meet my surgeon before surgery?

Yes. Your consultation is with the surgeon who would perform your procedure, not a sales advisor. The same surgeon operates and reviews you at every follow-up appointment.

How is my surgeon chosen?

A patient coordinator books your consultation with a surgeon who performs the procedure you are considering. You meet them at consultation, and nothing is booked until you have decided to go ahead.

Do your surgeons also work in the NHS?

Some of our surgeons hold NHS consultant posts alongside their practice at Centre for Surgery. Where that applies, the NHS post is shown on the surgeon’s profile.

Who gives the anaesthetic?

Consultant anaesthetists. Most procedures are performed under TIVA (total intravenous anaesthesia), which is given through a vein rather than as a gas, so patients wake more clearly with less sickness and most go home the same day.

Who performs the non-surgical treatments?

Laser, skin and injectable treatments are delivered by our aesthetic practitioners, with the surgical team on site at the same hospital. See the Skin & Aesthetics section for the full range.
